Privacy Policy

General Principles

At mobilComm Ltd, we take your privacy seriously. The Cookbook app is designed with data minimization in mind — we only collect what is absolutely necessary for the service to function.

What Data We Collect

Firebase Analytics

The app uses Firebase Analytics for anonymous usage statistics (iOS, macOS, tvOS, visionOS):

• Anonymized usage data (viewed recipes, used features)
• Technical device information (OS version, device type)
• Crash reports to improve stability

Firebase Analytics is not present on watchOS.

The Android app (phone and Android TV) does not use Firebase Analytics or any other analytics or advertising service.

iCloud Sync (Apple devices)

On Apple devices the app syncs your user data via iCloud Key-Value Store:

• Favorite recipes and categories
• Weekly meal plan
• Shopping list
• Browsing history (last 50 items)
• Recipe ratings

This data is stored in your personal iCloud account under your control.

Household Sync (iOS, Android, Android TV)

If you turn on sync between devices, the app creates or joins a "household" identified by a code in the form WF-XXXXXX. We do not require an account or sign-in. The following is sent to the wikifood.cz server:

• the household code and a randomly generated device ID
• the device model name and the platform (for example Android)
• favorite recipes and categories, "Cooked" marks, recipe ratings
• browsing history, weekly meal plan and shopping list

Anyone who knows a household code can join it and read its data, so do not share the code. The server technically processes the device's IP address when communicating (for example to limit the number of requests). You can stop syncing at any time by disconnecting the household in the app settings. You can ask us by email to delete household data from the server.

Recipe Ratings

If you rate a recipe, the app sends the article number and your rating to wikifood.cz. The rating is not linked to any account.

User Contributions

If you choose to submit a contribution (support request, error report, photo, recipe):

• Email address (optional) — only to respond to your inquiry
• Message text and any attachments
• Submissions are processed on the wikifood.cz server

Search Queries

Searches are performed via the wikifood.cz API. Queries are processed anonymously — we do not store IP addresses or other identifiers.

What We Do NOT Collect

• No advertising identifiers (IDFA or Android advertising ID)
• No cross-app tracking
• No financial or payment data
• No location data
• No contacts, photos, or other sensitive data from your device (except files you choose to send yourself)

How We Use Data

Anonymous analytical data is used to:

• Improve user experience
• Identify and fix bugs
• Make decisions about future app development

Data Sharing

We never sell your data to third parties. Anonymous analytical data from Firebase is not shared with anyone outside our company.

Local Storage

Recipes saved for offline use, favorites, and settings are stored on your device. When you uninstall the app, this data will be deleted. App backup is turned off on Android, so this data is not copied to Google backups.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages (rated 4+). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request information about processing of your data
• Delete local data by uninstalling the app
• Ask by email for deletion of household data stored on the wikifood.cz server
• Delete iCloud data in Settings → iCloud → Manage Storage
• Opt out of analytics in Settings → Privacy → Analytics

Policy Changes

We will inform you about significant changes to this policy through app updates or on this website.
